To cheers of joy the news broke on 6th July that the Planning Inspector had granted approval for the Alaska Wind Farm in Masters Quarry at East Stoke. in between Wareham and Wool. The wind farm will make a significant contribution to renewable energy generation in Dorset, up to 9.2 megawatts which is a fantastic step forward. Local wind specialist firm Infinergy are hoping to have the wind turbines up and running by the end of 2014.

This marks a great step forward for Dorset in embracing renewable energy to help reduce our carbon footprint.
