Sun shining on roof to light up the written word!

Dorset Energy Advice Centre volunteer John Tomblin and his team have been shortlisted for a British Gas Green Streets grant.  If successful the grant will provide up to £150,000 for funding renewable energy and energy efficiency measures in Weymouth.

The project will pay for a 6kW system on the library which will significantly reduce their electricity bills, and provide a public space where people can learn about the technology.

It will also provide sixty households in Weymouth with full energy efficiency measures, three with solar hot water systems and three with solar photovoltaic systems all paid for by British Gas.

The final funding decision will be made on Tuesday 3rd November, John Tomblin and Sheila Stimpson from Weymouth Environmental Action Group and Emily Bullock from DEAC will make a presentation to the panel and hopefully win the funding!
