Free Insulation Grants for anyone!

Until further notice DEAC has access to a free insulation scheme for all owner occupiers and private tenants - phone us for information today!
 

N.B. All grants are subject to survey, but around 90% of clients will qualify for free cavity wall insulation and free loft insulation if the existing insulation is less than 60mm/2.5''

We receive more calls about insulation grants than anything else, and are able to advise people about the grants available, and have a service where we can pass them directly to an installer to have a free no obligation survey if they wish. We only use local installers who have a proven track record of completing good quality work. 
 

We do not endorse companies that use telemarketing or door to door canvassing.

Please note the grants always need to be applied for before work is carried out, and grants are never given retrospectively.

The available grants can be confusing, and we will explain below  each type, who qualifies and what they offer.

Not on benefits or over 70 - 'Able to Pay' CERT Grants (Carbon Emissions Reduction Target)   Utility Funded. 
 

The CERT grants have been running for several years now, and are available because the Government enforces the Utility companies to provide subsidies for energy efficiency measures, this is by far the biggest grant system and every major utility company offers grants under these schemes.

Anybody can qualify for a discount from the total cost of cavity wall and loft insulation under this scheme regardless of their income or savings, currently (Up to at least March 31st 2012) the discount could be a full 100% grant. as we have a free scheme available. 
 

On benefits/allowances - CERT Priority Grants – Utility Funded. 
 

Under this scheme owner occupiers or private tenants on various benefits and allowances qualify to have the work done for free (except if property is larger than average for it’s type). The funding is for cavity wall and loft insulation. The following benefits and allowances qualify:

OVER - 60 YEARS OF AGE? GET YOUR FREE INSULATION AND REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT AND FUEL BILLS 
 

Dorset Energy Advice Centre are working in partnership with Dorset County Council, all 8 local authorities and the NHS using local installers to offer free insulation to all Dorset residents over 60 years of age. The grant can provide cavity wall and loft insulation for FREE and can include various remedial works needed to allow the works to be done.

We are also able to assist anyone with a health issue, any household with a child under 5 years of age, any over 50 year old living on their own, and anyone with an incapacity benefit

This grant is being funded by Dorset County Council and the Department of Health.

Over 60s A-D Council Tax Band Scheme. 
 

The following local authorities are currently offering this scheme :

• Bournemouth Borough Council
• Christchurch Borough Council
• Purbeck District Council

The authorities in these areas are providing free cavity wall and loft insulation up to the value of £1000, to owner occupiers between 60 and 69 years of age living in properties that fall into council tax bands A, B, C, and D. 
You do not need to be on benefits, and funding is limited. Contact DEAC for more details on (0800) 975 0166.
