The grants again are in transition as the utility companies have now met their targets under CERT (Carbon Emissions Reduction Target).
DEAC runs many schemes and advises everyone to call in to see what they qualify for as some grants are fully funded and some are subsidised. These will now be short lived without utility company funding to go with them.
DEAC works with all the Dorset Local Authorities, Dorset County Council, Exeter and Plymouth City Council and the NHS in Dorset this means DEAC has access to grants outside of nationally available schemes. So it is always worth giving us a try!
The grants are not purely based on age, benefits etc they are also based on the tenure of your property, your council tax band, the area you live in and other circumstances so please do call in to find out more.
N.B. All grants are subject to survey
We receive more calls about insulation grants than anything else, and are able to advise people about the grants available, and have a service where we can pass you directly to a local reputable installer or through ourselves to have a free no obligation survey if you wish.
We only use local installers who have a proven track record of completing good quality work.
We do not endorse companies that use telemarketing or door to door canvassing. Do not agree to have any work completed on your door step unless you are sure the company is reputable and has the backing of your local authority like we do. If in doubt phone your council or phone us.
Please note the grants always need to be applied for before work is carried out, and grants are never given retrospectively.
The available grants can be confusing, and we will explain below each type, who qualifies and what they offer.
The following local authorities are currently offering this scheme :
The authorities in these areas are providing free cavity wall and loft insulation up to the value of £1000, to owner occupiers between 60 and 69 years of age living in properties that fall into council tax bands A, B, C, and D.
You do not need to be on benefits, and funding is limited. Contact DEAC for more details on (0800) 975 0166.
