Durweston Mill

Micro hydro is a way of generating electricity from a stream or river. If your property is an old mill or has a river running through it, this may be an option for you.

Hydro power has been used for many years to pump water and mill flour, and earlier last century to generate electricity. It is now becoming more common and in Dorset the Town Mill in Lyme Regis  is generating electricity, and other projects are under consideration.

Like other technologies that generate electricity, hydro projects can get a return from the Feed in Tariff. See FIT Facts for more information.
