Bournemouth Landlords Project

Nick Stevens, who has had several local properties insulated as part of the Bournemouth’s Landlords Scheme, told us that his tenants have said that their flats are much warmer as a result.
Nick, featured at the rear of his property on Southcote Road, went on to say that he found the standard of workmanship very high. He was also dismissive of the idea that cavity wall insulation can cause damp, evidenced by the fact that the work was completed in 2007 and that no damp problems have occurred since. Indeed, previously occurring damp spots have now disappeared.

He was so pleased with the work that was carried out and the feedback he received from his tenants, that Nick is now paying to have his own home insulated.
He has asked DEAC to keep him up to date with any future opportunities which will make it easier for landlords to increase the energy-efficiency of their properties or to take advantage of new technologies, like solar photovoltaics to generate electricity on site.
